How to Unlock True Bankai in Type Soul: My 2026 Walkthrough
Unlock Type Soul True Bankai for Shinigami by clearing Hell's bosses, collecting Book Fragments, and upgrading to True Shikai.
As a professional Roblox player who has grinded through every major Bleach-inspired update, I can say without a doubt that unlocking True Bankai in Type Soul is one of the longest and most rewarding journeys available in 2026. When True Forms arrived, the old ceiling of Bankai disappeared. For Shinigami, True Bankai is now the real showpiece of power. The only prerequisite is that you have already mastered standard Bankai. If you have not done that, turn back now, because nothing else in this questline matters until that foundation is solid.

From my own run, I learned that preparation is everything. Bring friends, max out your combat stats, and be ready for a marathon. The entire quest can stretch for over a day because of the final idle requirement, so do not expect a quick power-up.
The Highway and Felis
The first stage begins in Karakura Town. I spoke to the Qas J. Ward NPC, who sent me to The Highway, the opening region of Hell. There, Felis gives you two tasks. First, I had to hunt down four shiny fragments scattered around the area. The fragments are easy to miss because of the dark environment, so look closely. Second, I played a quick round of hide and seek, which added a nice change of pace.
After finishing both tasks, I crossed the bridge to face the Weakened Gate Guardian. This boss is not extremely difficult, but it can punish players who rush in without healing items. Defeating it rewarded me with Book Fragment 1 and unlocked the path to Ring 1.
Ring 1: Tiger Sozosei and Book Fragment 2
In Ring 1, the NPC Tiger Sozosei waited for me. He offered a choice: destroy 120 Hell NPCs or complete 40 Raids. In my experience, the 120 NPC route is much faster. Raids are exciting, but forty of them will burn you out before the real challenge even begins.
After finishing the chosen objective, I returned to Tiger Sozosei and found another NPC. Talking to that NPC started a boss battle. Once I won, I received Book Fragment 2 and gained access to Ring 2.

Ring 2: Bosses, Medallion, and True Shikai
Ring 2 changes the formula. There are no lengthy side quests here, only two boss encounters. The Hitozosu of the Wind boss waited near the entrance. After defeating it, I obtained Book Fragment 3. Then I moved deeper into the area and spoke with two NPCs, which triggered a second battle. Winning that fight gave me Book Fragment 4 and a Cracked Medallion.
I then found the Blair NPC. She repaired the cracked medallion, and that action unlocked True Shikai for my character. It was a noticeable leap in power and made the following areas much more comfortable.
Ring 3, the Maze, and the Library
With True Shikai active, I moved to Ring 3. There I talked to an NPC named 3 to start another boss battle. After winning, Book Fragment 5 dropped. The next part is one of the most nerve-wracking: the Maze.
Inside the Maze, a woman can appear suddenly. When she shows up, I had to stop moving completely. Moving while she is present costs health and can ruin your run. My strategy was to stay patient, watch her pattern, and only move when the path was clear. Eventually, I found the gate that led out.
That gate brought me to the Library. Here I had to solve two puzzles. First, I found five books and selected the correct answers:
| Book | Correct Answer |
|---|---|
| One With the Blade | The Blade is Me |
| Power Unmatched Book | My Power is Absolute |
| Story of the King | I Worship the King |
| Faith in Self | I Believe in My Fist |
| Strength of the Soul | My Soul Never Wavers |
The second puzzle required pushing the books in a specific order. I used this sequence:
-
I Believe in My Fist
-
My Power is Absolute
-
I Worship the King
-
The Blade is Me
-
My Soul Never Wavers
The Final 20–25 Hour AFK Trial
After all those battles and puzzles, the last step felt almost too strange to be real. I had to return to Ring 1 and simply go AFK for 20 to 25 hours. No combat, no puzzle, just patience. I left my character idle and checked the screen periodically.
Eventually, the message "One last thing. Figure it out." appeared on my screen. That was the signal that the final test had been passed. After that, I just needed another player or an NPC to knock my character out. Once I was downed, I awakened my True Bankai.

Looking back, True Bankai is not handed to you. It demands mastery of the basics, completion of multiple boss fights, puzzle solving, and an absurdly long idle session. But from my perspective, that is exactly why it feels so rewarding to finally release the True Bankai in Type Soul.
